Cash on Delivery Policy and Information

Last updated: 10/ 09/ 2025

Overview

  • To ensure reliable deliveries, fair prices, and a better experience for all customers, COD availability may vary by location and order profile. In select cases, a small upfront payment may be required to confirm a COD order.

  • Prepaid options (UPI, Cards, Netbanking, Wallets) remain fully available and are processed instantly for faster dispatch.

  1. Where COD Is Available

  • COD is offered for eligible pincodes identified as low to medium risk based on delivery success rates and logistics coverage.

  • Certain areas with consistently high Return-to-Origin (RTO) or delivery failure rates may not have COD enabled.

  • Availability is determined dynamically at checkout after entering the delivery pincode/address.

  1. Partial COD (Small Upfront Payment)

  • For some orders, especially where past delivery outcomes indicate higher risk, a small advance payment may be required to confirm COD. The remaining balance is collected by the delivery partner at the time of delivery.

  • The upfront amount, if applicable, will be clearly shown during checkout before order placement.

  • Partial COD helps reduce failed deliveries and enables faster processing and dispatch for genuine orders.

  1. Eligibility & Limits

  • Order value limits: COD may be enabled only within a specific value range to reduce handling risks. Any applicable limits will be shown during checkout.

  • Product exclusions: Fragile, customized, or high-value items may be excluded from COD and will display prepaid-only options.

  • Account history: Accounts with repeated delivery refusals, non-contactable numbers, or frequent returns may have COD restricted or require partial COD.

  1. Order Confirmation & Communication

  • COD orders may require OTP, call, or message confirmation before dispatch to ensure successful delivery. Orders that cannot be confirmed may be placed on hold or switched to prepaid.

  • Customers receive regular updates on order status, including out-for-delivery notifications. Please keep the registered phone reachable for confirmation and delivery coordination.

  1. Payment at Delivery

  • Please keep the exact payable amount ready for a smooth handover. Where supported by our logistics partners, UPI/Card on delivery may be available.

  • If delivery is attempted and the customer is unavailable, the partner will try again as per standard delivery attempts. Additional scheduling instructions may be shared via SMS or WhatsApp.

  1. Failed Delivery & RTO

  • If an order cannot be delivered due to incorrect address, unreachable contact, refusal to accept, or repeated missed attempts, it may be marked as Return-to-Origin (RTO).

  • Repeated RTOs impact COD eligibility for future purchases; subsequent orders may require prepaid or partial COD to proceed.

  • If a nominal fee is applicable for repeated failed deliveries or re-shipments, it will be communicated transparently before re-dispatch.

  1. Modifications & Cancellations

  • COD orders can typically be cancelled before dispatch by contacting support. Once shipped, cancellations at the doorstep are considered delivery refusals and may impact future COD eligibility.

  • Address or phone number edits after order placement may require re-confirmation and can affect dispatch timelines.

  1. Refunds & Returns

  • For prepaid or partial COD payments, any eligible refunds follow our standard Return/Refund Policy timelines once the returned item passes quality checks.

  • For COD orders returned at the doorstep without acceptance, no cash was collected; therefore, there is no refund process for the unpaid balance.

  • If the order was partially prepaid, the upfront amount is refunded per the Returns/Refund Policy once the return is processed, if applicable.

  1. How to Place Orders Smoothly

  • Prefer prepaid for faster processing and uninterrupted delivery in high-demand periods.

  • Enter a complete address with landmarks and ensure the phone number is reachable for confirmation and delivery.

  • If COD is unavailable for the pincode, select a prepaid method or try an alternate address where COD is enabled.

  1. Fair Use & Fraud Prevention

  • To protect genuine customers and keep operational costs low, our systems may restrict COD for suspicious or abusive patterns (e.g., multiple concurrent COD orders, repeated refusals, invalid addresses).

  • We may request additional verification (OTP/ID) for high-value orders or unusual activity.

  • Any misuse of COD services may result in temporary or permanent restrictions.

  1. Fair Behavior & Community Standards

  • Responsible ordering helps keep Cash on Delivery (COD) available and affordable for everyone across online marketplaces. Please place COD orders only when ready to receive, respond to confirmation calls/OTPs, and accept delivery on the first attempt wherever possible.

  • Repeated refusals, unreachable numbers, and intentional non-acceptance increase operational costs and may lead to COD restrictions, partial COD requirements, or prepaid-only options on future orders.

  • Honest interactions—accurate addresses, reachable phone numbers, and genuine return reasons—protect fair pricing, faster dispatches, and continued access to COD and other conveniences across e-commerce platforms.

  • Help foster a healthy ecosystem: avoid frivolous orders, misuse of return windows, and false claims. These practices harm courier networks, raise costs, and limit COD availability for genuine shoppers.

  • Thank you for supporting a fair and reliable shopping experience. Responsible behavior ensures better service levels, quicker resolutions, and continued access to COD and promotional benefits across the broader e-commerce community.

FAQ

Q1. Why is COD not available for my pincode?

  • Some areas have high failed deliveries/RTO. Restricting COD in such locations helps keep prices fair and ensures a better delivery experience for everyone. Please use a prepaid method or try a different address if possible.

Q2. Why am I being asked to pay a small amount upfront for COD?

  • Partial COD confirms genuine intent and reduces failed deliveries. It helps us ship faster and maintain COD availability where feasible. The balance is collected at delivery.

Q3. How will I know if my order needs partial COD?

  • If applicable, the upfront amount will appear at checkout before payment. You can review and proceed only if comfortable.

Q4. Can I switch from COD to prepaid after placing the order?

  • Yes, in most cases before dispatch. Contact support with your order ID. Switching to prepaid can speed up dispatch.

Q5. Does this affect returns or refunds?

  • No, return eligibility remains as per our Returns/Refund Policy. For partial COD, the upfront amount is refunded per policy timelines after QC on returns.
